Sinus Lifts

Sinus lifting is a type of bone grafting in which bone is added to the floor of the sinus in the upper jaw to allow for implant placement.  Everyone has maxillary sinuses which are hollow air spaces above the back molars.  In some people, the sinuses are very large, and can be a problem for implant placement to replace the upper back teeth.  If an implant were to be placed without sinus lifting, the implant may extend into the sinus and have problems with stability.  In a sinus lift procedure, bone is added to the bottom of the sinus, which gives us more bone depth to anchor our implants into.  Sinus grafting is a very common, predictable procedure which Dr. Engle can perform in our office.
